| The
United Nations officially came into existence on 24 October
1945, when the United Nations Charter was ratified by China,
France, the Soviet Union, the United Kingdom, the United States
and a majority of other signatories. Los Angeles celebrated
United Nations Day on the steps of City Hall. Kids from around
the city enjoyed performances by Senegalese West African Dancers,
Japanese Taiko Drummers & Martial Artist, Egyptian Dancers,
and Mariachis, as well as food from a variety of cultures. |
