produced this press conference to announce the winners of Global
Green USA's "Designing a Sustainable and Secure World"
Awards. The winners included: Media Design Award: The Nation
and Katrina vanden Heuvel; Building Design Award: United States
Green Building Council; Industrial/Corporate Design Award: Dow
Jones Indexes and SAM Sustainable Asset Management; Product
Design: Giorgio Armani; and Policy Design: Senator Jon Corzine
of New Jersey.
Additionally,
President Gorbachev, and Battery Park City Authority Chairman
James F. Gill announced a partnership in which the ‘green
guidelines’ developed by BPCA will be shared with developers
throughout the world. The partnership will encourage green buildings
for lower Manhattan and for the possible location of the Olympics
in New York. |
